On Saturday, 26th July 2014 IGTC organised a one day Indo-German Intercultural Training Programme at Guhring India Pvt. Ltd. which was conducted by Ms Rosa Homburg, Academic Programme Manager, IGTC. Mr Puneet Kapoor, Managing Director, Guhring India Pvt. Ltd. and 21 employees attended the programme. Many employees work with Germans on a regular basis and they were eager to learn more about Germany, the German culture and wanted to know how to bridge the gap between the Indian and German cultures. An interactive day with many activities and exercises awaited them.
The day started with an introduction of Germany and basic elements of the German culture. It was clear from the beginning that everybody wanted to use this opportunity to gain more knowledge and to learn how to avoid potential intercultural conflicts in the future. Various intercultural aspects, such as communication and meetings were discussed.
As the day progressed the participants energetically participated in the many training activities. The individual and group exercises, which also included a role play, gave an insight into the German way of doing business. The most important aim of the training programme was to create awareness and understanding of the two different cultures in order to prepare for intercultural job situations in the future. The training was very well received and the participants showed a lot of enthusiasm and initiative. “I thoroughly enjoyed conducting this training programme because everybody was motivated and eagerly contributed to making it a successful training”, said Ms Rosa Homburg.
All participants were awarded a certificate by the Indo-German Training Centre which was handed over by Mr Puneet Kapoor and Ms Rosa Homburg.
