Dr. Günter Krüger Award winner enjoys four-week stay in Germany

Every year the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce awards the Dr. Günter Krüger Award for Excellence to the Best Performing Student of each Indo-German Training Centre. This award is given in collaboration with the company finally recruiting the student and the Goethe-Institut, Max Mueller Bhavan. It gives the student an opportunity to study a German language course with the Goethe-Institut in Germany and to understand best business practices in Germany through hands-on, practical training in his/her company.

Being this year’s award winner Meenakshi Kashyapright now enjoys a four-week German language course at the Goethe-Institut in Munich. Participating in group activities and going on trips not only in Germany but also in the neighbouring countries Austria and Czech Republic, Meenakshi can directly apply her German language skills in interaction with the locals. Besides enhancing her German, getting a first-hand experience of the German culture and the way of living is an important effect of her stay in Germany.

But now, let’s hear what Meenakshi herself has to report about her time in Germany so far.

“I can’t thank IGTC enough for providing me an opportunity and giving me a lifetime memory to visit Deutschland. The people in Germany are very helpful and gentle. Munich is so organised and its mode of transportation is finely integrated to provide a hassle free travelling every day. I am making every single second count. It’s such fun to travel in U-Bahn and S-Bahn. The course is also going really well. Teachers are so good and polite. Their way of teaching is always to ensure that it stimulates our thinking process in understanding the language in depth. I don’t find a difference in the way I learnt A1 in Goethe-Institute Bangalore and the way I am learning German over here. Therefore, I feel the teaching is standardised across the globe. The learning embedded with fun has always helped me to get more interested in the language.

Trips organized by the Goethe- Institut for its students are part of this process. For example, a trip to Schloss Neuschwanstein was arranged by the Goethe-Institut Munich as a part of intercultural activities. These trips are to ensure that students from various parts of the world will not only learn the language but also know about the German culture which is equally rich and incredible. One just has to think about the breath-taking view of Schloss Neuschwanstein as well as the incredible pieces of art exhibited at King Ludwig’s choice of castle. I was awestruck by the beauty of the castle and the gorgeous landscape surrounding it. Moreover, I am actively participating in the fun and learning trips that are organised by the Goethe-Institute. Yesterday I visited the BMW Welt, for instance. We went on the production plant tour. I was amazed to see the complete automated and robotic assembly and production line. They have few series of BMW being produced every day. I am in awe of the German’s skills and style of work. Since pics inside the plant were strictly prohibited I took some pics of the few models which were on display. On weekends I am making my own trips to nearby countries. Like last week I visited Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.

I have students in my class from different parts of the world like US, Columbia, Argentina, Japan, China, Singapore and India, too. It’s such a joy to say that I am here from India, post graduated from Indo-German training Centre Bangalore which has awarded me a scholarship trip to Germany. People get so curious about the training centre and want to know more about IGTC because they barely know any college sending student abroad as a scholarship trip. I feel so proud of being an IGTCian. Joining IGTC after getting married was a leap of faith. But every day in IGTC I looked forward to learning and growing more. I will be thankful forever to God for leading me to IGTC! I will proudly proclaim that I am from IGTC Bangalore.”

IGTC Bangalore is really happy to hear about Meenakshi enjoying her stay in Germany so much and representing IGTC Bangalore abroad in such an outstanding, positive and humble manner. We are already looking forward to hearing more about her experiences in Germany!
