Kiran C Karpur from the PGPBA Batch 2014-2016 recently participated and stood all India 4th Rank in the highly regarded NCAT (National Creativity Aptitude Test – 2015) conducted by IFEHE (International Forum for Excellence in Higher Education). This is an exhaustive creativity aptitude test held in 2 Rounds, of which Round – 1 was at the student’s institute level, at IGTC in February 2015. The subsequent Round – 2 was held at IISc, Bangalore in May 2015. In order to make it to the top he focused more on practicing logical reasoning, data interpretation and creative writing with assistance of ‘Lateral Thinking’ techniques for preparation of NCAT.
The supplementary advantage of taking up NCAT was that the top ranks are offered a course on ‘Creativity and Innovation’ in Delhi. The course was exceptionally good. Kiran C Karpur had the privilege to meet some brilliant minds of the country and esteemed faculties of IIT – Delhi, Mr. Priyank Narayan and Mr. Raj. K. Singh who mentored the course participants (finalists from institutes across India) and taught them management tools and techniques on creative and innovative thinking. They addressed some of the dire societal basic needs such as electricity, water, security and education. The participants were divided into teams and were asked to work on project ideas to come up with innovative solutions which were presented on the final day of the course.
“I must admit that it was simply outstanding to have been part of this entire exercise. I made new friends, met new people, learnt different languages and cultures, built a positive network with brilliant minds and focused on creative thinking, said Kiran C Karpur after returning from Delhi, India’s capital, which he visited for the first time thanks to his achievements at NCAT.
